Changed my mind for the 3rd spread, 'ghetto spot' is too similar to 'Treetops' and doesn't have that illegal no skateboarding aspect that I need as a point of difference. I have chosen to research 'The Brewery' a legendary skate spot that has forever been a grey area in terms of legal/illegal skateboarding

Started putting together digital collages

Some page layout designs I've been looking at, lovely simple flow created with very simple typographic elements, source http://les-graphiquants.fr/

Started on some hand-made collage concepts for Waitangi park, using some of the photos I took, and using some illustrations from observations at the park

Graffiti is becoming quite a common theme with these locations, may wish to incorporate that as a continuity between spreads

For a 3rd location I looked at 'Ghetto spot'. this place used to thrive a few years back, now looking quite desolate. Very crudely build with some local ingenuity. Rough concrete transitions and no real 'flow'. quite a eerie atmosphere being directly behind the Newtown Hospital.

Also visited possible 2nd location today which local's have nick-named 'Treetops' nice secluded spot, with skater-built ramps crudely put together with bits of scrap wood. Lovely make-shift feel, will work as a unique point of difference to the consistancy of the skatepark. Here you can move everything around and design your own experience

Waitangi park

Some initial photos of the first location I'm thinking of exploring. Waitangi skatepark is a huge improvement to the old Chaffer's skatepark, re-invented around 2004. It's a great place to come on a sunny day and make a day of it, will be good to draw a family aspect in for a point of difference. Very smooth transitions, will make for a nice flow.
